ADP172A low voltage input, low quiescent current, low dropout (LDO)
Linear regulatorIt operates from 1.6 V to 3.6 V and is capable of delivering up to 300 mA of output current. Driving a 300 mA load with a dropout voltage of only 50 mV improves efficiency and supports a wide input voltage range. Quiescent current as low as 23 μA at no load makes the ADP172 ideal for battery-powered portable equipment.
The ADP172 is available in 31 fixed output voltage options from 0.8 V to 3.0 V. Stable operation is achieved with a small 1 μF ceramic output capacitor. The ADP172 has excellent transient response and a minimal board footprint, making it ideal for powering digital processors. The ADP172 has a 20 dB to 40 dB higher power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) at 100 kHz than common LDO products, making it an ideal power supply for analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) mixed-signal processor systems and allowing the use of smaller bypass capacitors. In addition, the devices offer low output noise performance and do not require additional bypass capacitors, further reducing the number of printed circuit board (PCB) components.
Short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection circuitry prevent damage under adverse conditions. Available in a small 4-lead, 0.5 mm pitch WLCSP package, the ADP172 is the industry's smallest solution for a wide range of portable power applications.
