The ADuM140D/ADuM140E/ADuM141D/ADuM141E/ADuM142D/ADuM142E are 4-channel digital isolators using Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology, of which only the ADuM140D and ADuM140E are available. These isolation devices combine high-speed, complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) with monolithic air-core transformer technology to provide superior performance characteristics over optocouplers and alternative devices such as other integrated couplers. These devices have a maximum propagation delay of 13 ns and less than 3 ns pulse width distortion at 5 V. Features strict 3.0 ns (maximum) channel matching.
The ADuM140D/ADuM140E/ADuM141D/ADuM141E/ ADuM142D/ADuM142E data channels are self-contained, available in a variety of configurations, and can withstand voltage ratings of 3.75 kV rms. These devices can operate from supply voltages from 1.8 V to 5 V, are compatible with low-voltage systems, and are capable of voltage conversion across the isolation barrier.
Unlike other optocouplers, DC correctness is ensured when there is no input logic conversion. They offer two different fail-safe options to transition the output to a predetermined state when the input power supply is unused or the input is disabled. The ADuM14xE1 is pin compatible with the ADuM140x.
