illustrate
The LM20146 is a full-featured, adjustable frequency synchronous buck regulator that provides up to 6A continuous output current capability. Current-mode control loop compensation that is stable with almost any type of output capacitor. In most cases, compensation devices require only two external components, providing maximum flexibility and ease of use. The device is suitable for operation over a wide range of temperature ranges from an input voltage of 2.95V to 5.5V, making it a low voltage system.
The device features internal overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection to improve system reliability (OCP) circuitry. Precise enable pins and implementation of integrated UVLO are required to be tightly controlled and sequenced on the device. The start-up inrush current limit is both internally fixed and externally adjustable soft-start circuitry. Fault detection and power sequencing are possible with integrated power good circuits.
The LM20146 is designed to work well in multi-rail power structures. The output voltage of the device can be set to a higher voltage rail tracking using the stainless steel/tilk pin. If the output prebias of the LM20146 starts when it does not pull low, the output will be low.
The device can adjust the frequency from 250 kHz to 750 kHz by connecting an external resistor from the RT pin to ground.
The LM20146 is available in a 16-pin eTSSOP package with an exposed pad that can be soldered to a printed circuit board, eliminating the need for bulky heat sinks.
