RT8802A PWM controller for high-density power supplies for 2/3/4/5-phase

RT8802A is a 2/3/4/5-phase synchronous buck controller specifically designed for power consumption Intel®/AMD next-generation microprocessors. It implements an internal 8-bit DAC that recognizes the VID code directly from the microprocessor. RT8802A generate a VID table that complies with Intel ®VRD10. X VRD11 core power 6.25mV increments and 0.5% accuracy. RT8802A uses innovative time-sharing DCR current sensing technology to sense phase current's three-phase current balance, load line setting, and overcurrent protection. All phase currents are sensed using a common GM to eliminate the difference between offset and linear GMS between traditional current detection methods. Since sub-milliohm inductors are widely used in modern motherboards, a slight offset and a mismatch in linearity can lead to a considerable phase shift between currents. This technology ensures a good current balance in high-volume production. Other features include overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, programmable soft-start, output offset settings.
