The CLRC663 is a highly integrated oneTransceiver ICsfor contactless communication at 13.56 MHz.
The CLRC663 transceiver IC supports the following modes of operation:
- Supports read/write mode of ISO/IEC 14443A/MIFARE
- Supports read/write mode of ISO/IEC 14443B
- Supports read/write mode for JIS X 6319-4 (equivalent to the FeliCa scheme).
- Passive starter mode according to ISO/IEC 18092
- Supports read/write mode of ISO/IEC 15693
- Support read/write mode of ICODE EPC UID/EPC OTP
- Supports read/write mode of ISO/IEC 18000-3 mode 3/ EPC Class-1 HF
The CLRC663's internal transmitter requires no additional active circuitry to drive a read/write antenna designed to communicate with ISO/IEC 14443A/MIFARE cards and transmit transponders. The digital module manages the full ISO/IEC 14443A framing and error detection functions (parity and CRC).
CLRC663 supports MIFARE Classic 1K, MIFARE Classic 4K, MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE Ultralight C, MIFARE PLUS, and MIFARE DESFire products. The CLRC663 supports bidirectional MIFARE speeds of up to 848 kbit/s.
CLRC663 supports layers 2 and 3 of ISO/IEC 14443B read/write communication schemes, except for collision prevention. Anti-collision needs to be implemented in the firmware of the host controller as well as in the upper layers.
The CLRC663 is capable of demodulating and decoding FeliCa encoded signals. The FeliCa receiver assembly provides circuitry for demodulating and decoding FeliCa encoded signals. The CLRC663 handles error detection such as FeliCa framing and CRC. The CLRC663 supports bidirectional FeliCa transfer speeds of up to 424 kbit/s.
The CLRC663 supports the ISO/IEC 18092 compliant P2P passive initiator mode.
CLRC663 supports proximity protocols that comply with ISO/IEC 15693, EPC UID, and ISO/IEC 18000-3 mode 3/ EPC Class-1 HF standards.
The following host interfaces are supported:
- Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI)
- Serial UART (similar to RS232, voltage level depends on pin voltage supply)
- I²C-bus interface (two versions implemented: I2C and I2CL)
The CLRC663 supports Secure Access Module (SAM) connectivity. A dedicated stand-alone I2C interface implements SAM connectivity. SAM can be used for highly secure key storage and as a very high-performance cryptographic coprocessor. A dedicated SAM can be used to connect to the CLRC663.
