The A1126 IC is an all-pole, ultra-sensitive Hall-effect switch with a digital output. The device has an integrated voltage regulator that allows for up to 24 volts
voltage operation.
The device is particularly suitable for operation over a wide temperature range (up to 150 °C). Allegro's® patented dynamic offset cancellation technology reduces the residual offset voltage typically caused by device overmolding, temperature dependence, and thermal stress, protecting the device's performance under ultra-high temperatures.
The A1126 Hall-effect switch includes the following components on a single silicon wafer: voltage regulator, Hall generator, small signal amplifier, chopper stabilization feature, Schmidt flip-flop, and open-drain output with short-circuit protection. The advanced BiCMOS wafer processing process takes advantage of low voltage requirements, component matching, very low input offset errors, and small component geometries.
The A1126's all-pole operation allows operation under a magnetic field of sufficient strength in the north or south poles. When there is no magnetic field, the output stops. The patented "pole independent" feature makes the device a perfect replacement for reed switches and is easier to manufacture because the A1126 does not require the manufacturer to position the magnet. These devices allow for the use of simple on/off switches in industrial, consumer, and automotive applications.
The A1126 is rated for operating ambient temperatures from –40°C to 150°C. The package provides a magnetically optimized solution for most applications. The package LH is a SOT23W miniature low-thickness surface-mount package, while the package UA is a three-pin ultra-miniature SIP for via mounting. All packages are lead-free, and the pin frames are 100% matte tin plated.
