The ACS759LCB-100B-PFF-T is a thermally enhanced, fully integrated, Hall-effect-based linear current sensor IC with a 100 μΩ current conductor optimized for 3.3 V operation
The Allegro® ACS759 current sensor IC family provides an affordable and accurate solution for AC or DC current sensing. Typical applications include motor control, load detection and management, power supply and DC-to-DC converter control, inverter control, and overcurrent fault detection.
The equipment consists of a low-offset precision linear Hall circuit with a copper current path close to the surface of the wafer. The current flowing through this current path creates a magnetic field that can be converted by the Hall IC into a voltage output in equal proportion. By bringing the magnetic signal as close as possible to the Hall sensor, the accuracy of the device can be greatly optimized. The accurate, proportional output voltage is provided by a stabilized chopper-type low-bias BiCMOS Hall IC that is shipped with precision programming.
Allegro's proprietary integrated shielding technology provides high tolerance to current conductor dV/dt signals and stray electric fields, ensuring low output voltage ripple and low bias drift in high-side, high-voltage applications.
The output of the device has a positive slope (>VCC/2) when the current rises through the main copper conduction path (from terminal 4 to terminal 5) that is used as the current sampling path. The internal resistance of this conduction path is typically 100 μΩ, which has a low power loss.
The thickness of the copper wire allows the device to operate under high overcurrent conditions. The current path is galvanically isolated from the terminal end and the signal leads (pins 1 through 3). This makes the ACS759 sensor IC family available for applications that require electrical isolation but do not use photoisolators or other expensive isolation technologies.
The equipment is fully calibrated before shipment. The ACS759 series is lead-free. All leads are plated with 100% matte tin, and there is no lead present in the package. The large size lead frame is made of oxygen-free copper.
