ADM7172Is a CMOS, low dropout (LDO)
Linear regulatorIt operates from a 2.3 V to 6.5 V supply with a maximum output current of 2 A. This high output current LDO is suitable for regulating high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits from 6 V to 1.2 V. The device uses an advanced, proprietary architecture that provides high power supply rejection, low noise, and excellent line and load transient response with only a small 4.7 μF ceramic output capacitor. For a 1 mA to 1.5 A load step, the load transient response is typically 1.5 μs.
The ADM7172 is available in 17 fixed output voltage options. The following voltage versions are available from stock: 1.3 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.0 V, 3.3 V, 4.2 V, and 5.0 V. On special request, the following voltage versions are also available: 1.5 V, 1.85 V, 2.0 V, 2.2 V, 2.7 V, 2.75 V, 2.8 V, 2.85 V, 3.8 V, and 4.6 V. An adjustable version is also available that regulates the output voltage range from 1.2 V to V with an external feedback dividerIN − VDO。
The start-up time is regulated by the soft-start pin to control the inrush current. A typical start-up time with a 1 nF soft-start capacitor is 1.0 ms.
The ADM7172 regulator has an output noise of 5 μV rms and is independent of the output voltage. Available in an 8-lead, 3 mm × 3 mm LFCSP package, the ADM7172 is not only very compact, but also has excellent thermal performance for low-profile, small form factor applications requiring maximum output current of 2 A.
