ADP1712/ADP1713/ADP1714 are both
Low dropout linear regulatorA small 5-pin TSOT package is available from a 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply with a maximum output current of 300 mA. The dropout voltage is only 170 mV when driving a 300 mA load; The low dropout feature not only improves efficiency, but also allows the device to operate over a wide input voltage range. These devices feature a novel scaling architecture and very low ground current (75 μA) when driving a 100 μA load, making them ideal for battery-powered portable devices.
The ADP1712/ADP1713/ADP1714 are available in 16 fixed output voltage options. The ADP1712 is also available in adjustable versions that allow the output voltage to be adjusted from 0.8 V to 5 V through an external voltage divider. The ADP1712 fixed model can be connected to an external capacitor to program the soft-start time. The ADP1713 can be connected to a reference bypass capacitor to reduce output voltage noise and improve power supply rejection. The ADP1714 has a tracking feature that allows the output to follow an external voltage rail or reference.
The ADP1712/ADP1713/ADP1714 are optimized for stable operation with a small 2.2 μF ceramic output capacitor while providing good transient performance in a minimal board footprint. The enable pin controls the output voltage of all devices. If the input drops below the minimum threshold, the undervoltage lockout circuit disables the regulator. These devices also feature short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection, which can prevent damage under adverse conditions.
