The ADuM1210 is a company using Analog Devices
iCoupler® technology
Dual channel digital isolator。 This isolation device combines high-speed CMOS with monolithic transformer technology to provide superior performance characteristics over alternative devices such as optocouplers.
iCoupler devices do not use LEDs and photodiodes, so there are no design difficulties typically associated with optocouplers. simpleiThe Coupler digital interface and robust performance characteristics eliminate the problems typically associated with optocouplers such as uncertain current transfer ratios, nonlinear transfer functions, and temperature and lifetime effects.iCoupler products do not require external drivers and other discrete components. In addition, in the case of comparable signal data rates,iCoupler devices consume only 1/10 to 1/6 of the power of optocouplers.
The ADuM1210 isolator provides two independent isolation channels that operate from a 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply voltage at either end, is compatible with low voltage systems, and enables voltage conversion across the isolation barrier. In addition, the ADuM1210 features low pulse width distortion (less than 3 ns) and tight channel-to-channel matching (less than 3 ns). Unlike other optocouplers, the ADuM1210 isolator has a patented refresh feature that ensures dc correctness during no input logic transitions and power-up/shutdown conditions. In addition, when the input supply is turned off, the default output of the ADuM1210 is a logic low state, while the default output of the ADuM1200 dual digital isolator is a logic high state.
