TheLM2675 series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits with a built-in LMDMOS process. These regulators offer all active buck (buck) switching regulators capable of driving 1A load current with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in 3.3V fixed output voltage, 5.0V, 12V adjustable output versions.
Requiring a minimum number of external components, these regulators are simple to use and include patented internal frequency compensation (patent numbers 5382918 and 5514947) and fixed frequency oscillators.
The LM2675 series operates at a switching frequency of 260 kHz, thus enabling smaller sizes that would be compatible with lower frequency switching regulators required for filter assemblies. Due to its very high efficiency (> 90%), the copper trace of the printed circuit board is the only heat dissipation need.
The LM2675 standard inductor is available from several different manufacturers for use in a home. This feature greatly simplifies the design of switching power supplies, which are supplied using these advanced integrated circuits. Also included in the datasheet is a selection guide for designing diodes and capacitors for switch-mode power supplies.
Other features include a guaranteed tolerance of 1.5% of the output voltage for specified input voltage and output load conditions within the ±, and a ± 10% of the oscillator frequency. External shutdown with a typical standby current of 50μA. The output switches include current limiting, thermal shutdown, and adequate protection in fault conditions.
