MC34848EP 8-channel local dimming LED driver

MC34848 is a high-efficiency, 8-channel LED driver for LCD backlighting applications. It is intended to support up to 160 mAh/channel sweep backlight mode, or 80 mAh/channel local dimming mode. Set the current with a single resistor, reference GND and LED current tolerance accurate to ±1% channel-to-channel and IC-IC. The current in local dimming mode and scan mode is programmable. Each channel has independent PWM control with 10-bit resolution, high-speed differential interface programming. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Peculiarity-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drive 8 LED channels current tolerance ±1% Local dimming mode, Sweep mode (2/8, 3/8, 4/8, 5/8), test mode Supports output voltage up to 45 V for up to 12 LEDs Automotive Drive Voltage (VOUT) Selection: Low power consumption with a minimum feedback voltage of 500 mV Differential interface: Initial setup (LED current, FPWM, OVP, etc.) PWM data in normal operation Integrated phase-locked loop (PLL) synchronization: 177 Hz – 1200 Hz in 1.0 Hz steps 10-bit PWM control, per channel: Dimming ratio: > 1000:1, on-time less than 200 nanoseconds
