The SP207E, SP213E is an enhanced transceiver used in RS-232 and V.28 serial communications.These devices have very low power consumption and single-supply operation make them ideal for space-constrained applications.Sipex's patented (5306954) on-board charge pump circuit produces fully compatible RS-232 voltage levels using small and inexpensive 0.1 D charge pump capacitors.External +12 V and -12V power supplies are not required.The SP211E and SP213E feature a low-power shutdown mode, which reduces the power drain by 1 E.The SP213E includes active monitoring of signal activity while both receivers are off.

The SP207E, SP213E device pin-to-pin is compatible with our previous SP207, SP208, SP211 and SP213 as well as industry-standard devices from competitors.The driver output and receiver input pins are ESD protected by more than ± 15kV for human body models and IEC1000-4-2 air gap discharge test method.Data transfer rates over 120kbps and 230kbps typical are guaranteed, making them compatible with high-speed modems and PC remote access applications.The receiver also incorporates cleanup of slow-selling signal reception hysteresis.
