The HFBR-0508 series consists of a fiber optic transmitter and receiver operating at 650nm wavelengths, the HFBR-1528 transmitter is a low-cost plastic-encapsulated LED emitter designed to efficiently couple power to 200μm diameter HCS hard-clad quartz fiber and 1mm diameter POF plastic fiber, and the HFBR-2528 receiver integrates a PIN detector and digital output chip, compatible with COMS and TTL logic series.
The HFBR-0508 link can operate from DC to 10MBd with distances up to 50 meters with 1mm POF plastic fiber and up to 500 meters with 200μm HCS fiber, with no minimum link distance requirement when using the recommended circuit, simplifying the design.
Versatile Link assemblies can minimize space with interlocks and provide dual connectivity through duplex connectors, up to 8 packages that can be interlocked and inserted into a printed circuit board.
POF and HCS are available in pre-incorporated connector lengths or can be simply terminated in the field, and the single transmitter drive current design of POF and HCS can be combined with two fibers in a single design.
- DC to 10MBd signal rate data transfer
- Up to 50 meters of transmission distance with 1mm POF plastic fiber
- Up to 500 meters with 200μm HCS hard-clad quartz fiber
- The wide dynamic range receiver can operate from 0 to the maximum link distance with a single transmitter drive current
- Provides link distances at different temperatures, power supplies, and fiber attenuation
- DC-coupled receivers with CMOS/TTL output simplify design and eliminate the need for data coding or digitization circuitry
- Pulse width distortion control limits data distortion in low duty cycle or burst mode
- High noise immunity
- Compatible with Avago's Versatile Link series connectors, simplifying fiber termination
