The DAC8412/DAC8413 are quad, 12-bit voltage-output DACs with readback capability. These monolithic DACs are fabricated using complementary BiCMOS processes to provide very high package density.
The output voltage swings by two reference voltages, input VREFH and VREFLSet up. Replace VREFLThe input is set to 0 V and VREFHWhen set to positive voltage, the DAC provides a unipolar positive output range. A similar configuration is used, VREFH is 0 V and VREFLWhen negative, the DAC provides a unipolar inverting output range. The bipolar output is via VREFH and VREFL All are configured with non-zero voltage connection. This method of setting the output voltage range does not depend on internal and external resistors with different temperature coefficients, so it is superior to other bipolar offset methods.
Digital control allows the user to load or read back data from any DAC, load any DAC, and transmit data to all DACs at once.
Low level activeRESET Load all DAC output registers to midscale (DAC8412) or zero scale (DAC8413).
The DAC8412/DAC8413 are available in 28-pin plastic DIP, 28-pin ceramic DIP, 28-pin PLCC, and 28-pin LCC.
These devices can operate from a variety of supplies and reference voltages ranging from +5 V to ±15 V and a reference voltage range of +2.5 V to ±10 V. When operating from a ±15 V supply, the power consumption is less than 330 mW; When operating from a +5 V supply, it consumes only 60 mW.
