The AD5666 is a low power, quad, 16-bit buffered voltage output DAC that operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and is designed to be monotonic.
The AD5666 contains an on-chip reference with an internal gain of 2. The AD5666-1 contains a 1.25 V, 5 ppm/°CVoltage reference, full-scale output up to 2.5 V; The AD5666-2 contains a 2.5 V, 5 ppm/°C reference with a full-scale output of 5 V. At power-up, the on-chip reference is turned off, allowing the use of an external reference. Writing to the DAC turns on the internal reference.
The device contains a power-on reset circuit that ensures that the DAC output powers up to 0 V (POR pin low) or midscale (POR pin high) and remains at that level until a valid write operation is performed. There is also a per-channel independent shutdown feature that reduces the power consumption of the device to 400 nA at 5 V in shutdown mode and provides a software-selectable output load.
exploitLDACThe function allows all DAC outputs to be updated simultaneously, and the user can select which DAC channels to update at the same time. There is also an asynchronous CLR function that clears all DACs to software-selectable codes: 0 V, midscale, or full-scale.
THE AD5666 FEATURES A VERSATILE 3-WIRE SERIAL INTERFACE CAPABLE OF OPERATING AT CLOCK RATES UP TO 50 UMHz and is compatible with standard spi,® qspi™, microwire™, and dsp interface standards. It includes an on-chip precision output amplifier that enables rail-to-rail output swing.
