The AD7392 and AD7393 have a set of pin-compatible 10/12-bit output digital-to-analog converters and are powered by a single 3 V supply. These single-chip DACs are manufactured using the CBCMOS process and are suitable for 3V single-power system applications, with the characteristics of low cost and ease of use. The guaranteed operating voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V makes this device ideal for battery-powered applications.
The full-scale voltage output is determined by the applied external reference input voltage. Rail-to-rail REFIN to DACOUT allows a full-scale voltage equal to the positive supply voltage VDD or anything in between. The voltage output is capable of providing a source current of 5 mA.
When interfacing with the fastest processors, 12-bit data latching and 45 ns write times make the processor wait-free. In addition, the asynchronous RS input can set the output to zero level when powered on or requested by the user.
Both devices feature a similar pinout, allowing users to select the appropriate resolution for their specific application without having to change the board.
The AD7392/AD7393 are rated for an extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. The AD7393AR is rated for a temperature range of −40°C to +125°C for automotive applications. The AD7392/AD7393 are available in 20-pin PDIP and 20-pin SOIC packages.
