The AD8300 is a complete 12-bit voltage outputDigital-to-analog convertersoperates from a single +3 V supply. Manufactured on a CBCMOS process, this monolithic DAC is suitable for +3 V single-supply system applications and is low-cost and easy to use. The guaranteed operating voltage range is +2.7 V to +5.5 V, making this device ideal for battery-powered applications.
The full-scale voltage output is 2.0475 V, which is laser trimmed to maintain accuracy over the entire operating temperature range of the device. The binary input data format provides easy-to-use 0.5 mV software programming capabilities per bit. The voltage output is capable of sourcing 5 mA.
The double-buffered serial data interface provides high-speed, 3-wire, DSP, and microcontroller-compatible inputs using data input (SDI), clock (CLK), and load strobe (LD) pins. The chip select (CS) pin simplifies the connection of multiple DAC packages by enabling a clock input when active low. In addition, the CLR input can set the output to zero scale at power-up or when requested by the user.
The AD8300 is specified over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in both plastic DIP and 1.5 mm, thin SO-8 surface-mount packages.
