The AD9776/AD9778/AD9779 are dual, 12/14/16-bit, with high dynamic range, respectively
Digital-to-analog converters(DAC), which provides a 1 GSPS sample rate and can generate multiple carriers up to the Nyquist frequency. These devices feature features optimized for direct conversion transmission applications, including complex digital modulation and gain and offset compensation. The DAC output is optimized to interface seamlessly with analog quadrature modulators such as the AD8349. The serial peripheral interface (SPI®) allows many internal parameters to be programmed and read back. The full-scale output current can be programmed from 10 mA to 30 mA. These devices are manufactured using an advanced 0.18 μm CMOS process, operate from 1.8 V and 3.3 V supplies, consume 1.0 W total, and are available in a 100-pin TQFP package.
Product Focus
- Ultra-low noise and intermodulation distortion (IMD) enable high-quality synthesis of wideband signals from baseband to high IF frequencies.
- Proprietary DAC output switching technology enhances dynamic performance.
- The current output is easy to configure and can be used in a variety of single-ended or differential circuit topologies.
- CMOS data input interface with adjustable setup and hold.
- Novel 2×, 4×, 8× interpolators/coarse complex modulators can place the carrier anywhere in the DAC bandwidth.
