illustrate
The LM2590HV Series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all the features of an aggressive buck (buck) switching regulator capable of driving an excellent line and load regulation 1A load. These devices are available in fixed output voltages in 3.3V, 5V, and adjustable output versions.
This series of switching regulators is similar to the LM2591HV, which has more supervision and performance features.
Requiring a minimum number of external components, these regulators are simple to use and include internal frequency compensation †, improved line and load specifications, fixed frequency oscillators, shutdown/soft start, output error flags, and flag delays.
The LM2590HV operates at a switching frequency of 150 kHz, thus making the smaller size and filter assembly required with a lower frequency switching regulator. The standard 7-pin TO-220 package comes with several different bending options, and the 7-pin TO-263 surface mount package.
Other features include guaranteed 4% tolerance under all conditions under input voltage and output load conditions ± output voltage, and 15% frequency ± oscillator. Includes external shutdown with a typical 90μA standby current. Self-protection features include a two-stage current limit, output switching, and complete protection under overtemperature shutdown fault conditions.
