The LM3405 1A power switch is integrated and is a current mode controlled switching buck regulator designed to provide a simple, high efficiency solution for driving high power LEDs. A 0.205V reference voltage feedback control minimizes power dissipation, and an external resistor sets the current to drive the LED needs. The switching frequency is internally set to 1.6MHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors. The LM3405 uses current mode control and internal compensation to provide easy-to-use and predictable, high-performance regulation over a wide range of operating conditions. Other features include user-accessible EN/DIM pins with LED with PWM dimming enabled and PWM dimming, thermal shutdown, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and overcurrent protection.
