The LM3405 1A Power Switch Integrated, is a current-mode controlled switching buck regulator designed to provide a simple, efficient solution for driving high-power LEDs. A 0.205V reference voltage feedback control minimizes power consumption and an external resistor sets the current for driving the LEDs' various needs. The switching frequency is set internally to 1.6MHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors to be used. The LM3405 uses current-mode control and internal compensation to provide easy-to-use and predictable, high-performance regulation over a wide range of operating conditions. Other features include LEDs for enabled and PWM dimming, thermal shutdown, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and user-accessible EN/DIM pins for overcurrent protection.
