MSC8252SVT1000B High-performance dual-core DSP
MSC8252 is the industry's highest-performing DSP core with built-in StarCore technology and advanced processing based on the needs and capabilities of today's high-performance medical imaging, aerospace, defense, and advanced test and measurement markets. It offers industry-leading performance and power consumption, leveraging 45nm process technology to deliver a single-core device with performance equivalent to 2 GHz in a highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC). The MSC8252 helps device manufacturers create end products and services that integrate more functionality in smaller hardware. MSC8252 DSP delivers a high level of performance and integration, combining two enhanced fully programmable SC3850 cores, each running at speeds up to 1 GHz. The SC3850 DSP cores have been independently evaluated to allow more than 40% of the processing power per megahertz to compete with the closest DSP. The high-performance internal RISC-based QUICC Engine subsystem supports multiple network protocols to guarantee reliable data transmission over packet networks while significantly offloading the DSP cores processed. MSC8252 embeds a large amount of internal memory to support a variety of advanced high-speed interface types, including two serial RapidIO® interfaces, 2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for network communication, a PCI Express® controller, DDR controller high-speed, industry-standard memory interfaces, and four multi-channel TDM interfaces. MSC8252 allows for a high degree of scalability and is pin-to-pin compatible with all MSC825x and MSC815x DSP devices.
