The XR21B1411 (B1411) is an enhanced universal asynchronous receiver and transmitter and a USB interface (UART).The USB interface is fully compliant with the full-speed USB 2.0 specification and supports a USB data transfer rate of 12 Mbps. The USB interface also supports USB suspend, resume and remote wake-up operations.
The B1411 uses an internal clock that can be programmed to 6, 12, 24 or 48 MHz.Therefore, there is no need for an external crystal/oscillator, and a UART of the previous generation is required. With the fractional baud rate generator, arbitrary baud rates up to 12 Mbps can be accurately generated using an internal clock.
The B1411 with a large transmit FIFO of 128 bytes and a receive FIFO of 384 bytes helps optimize the overall data throughput of various applications. The transceiver's automatic directional control simplifies hardware and software for half-duplex RS-485 applications. If required, multipoint (9-bit) with automatic half-duplex transceiver control function mode further simplifies typical multipoint RS-485 applications.
Vendor ID, product ID, bus power mode, self-powered mode, remote wake-up support or maximum power consumption values, and default baud rate settings can be programmed using OTP via USBD+/USBD-pinboards.
The B1411 operates from a single 5V supply in a 16-pin QFN package.
Software drivers for Windows 7, 2000 and XP, Vista and CE certified, and Linux and Mac are supported XR21B1411
