AD7405is a high performance second-order sigma-delta modulator with on-chip digital isolation using Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology to convert analog input signals to high speed, single-bit LVDS data streams. The AD7405 operates from a 5 V (VDD1) supply and can input a differential signal of ± 250 mV (full scale ± 320 mV). This differential input signal is ideal for monitoring shunt voltages in high voltage applications requiring galvanic isolation.
The analog input is continuously sampled by a high-performance analog modulator and converted to a digital output stream with a data rate of up to 20 MHz and a density of 1. The original information can be reconstructed with appropriate digital filters to achieve a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 88 dB at 78.1 kSPS. LVDS inputs/outputs can operate from 5 V or 3.3 V supplies (VDD2).
LVDSThe interface is digitally isolated. By combining LVDS interface technology with monolithic transformer technology, on-chip isolation provides better operating characteristics than other components such as traditional optocouplers. The AD7405 is available in a 16-lead wide-body SOIC package and operates over the −40°C to +125°C temperature range.
