ADP2441It is constant frequency and uses current mode control
Synchronous step-down DC-DC regulator, can drive loads up to 1 A and has excellent line and load regulation characteristics. It operates over a wide input voltage range (4.5 V to 36 V) and is ideal for adjusting the power of many types of input sources. It also has a very low minimum on-time (50 ns), making it suitable for applications requiring a very high step-down ratio.
The output voltage is available from 0.6 V to 0.9 V × VINAdjust between. The device integrates low resistance N-channel MOSFETs for both high-side and low-side devices for high efficiency.
The switching frequency can be adjusted from 300 kHz to 1 MHz with external resistors. The ADP2441 also has a precision power good (PGOOD) open-drain output signal.
At lower loads, the regulator improves efficiency by skipping pulses and reducing switching losses by operating in pulse-skipping mode. In addition, under medium to high load conditions, the regulator operates in fixed-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI).
The ADP2441 uses hiccup mode to protect the IC from short-circuits or output overcurrent conditions. An externally programmable soft-start limits inrush current at startup with a wide range of load capacitors. Other important features include tracking, input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), thermal shutdown (TSD), and precision enable (EN), as well as logic-level shutdown inputs.
The ADP2441 is available in a 3 mm × 3 mm, 12-lead LFCSP package and is specified over the −40°C to +125°C junction temperature range.
