By controlling two DC motors with pulse width modulation (PWM), the A4954 is capable of withstanding peak output currents up to ±2 amperes and voltages up to 40 volts.
The input side controls the speed and direction of the DC motor by applying an external PWM control signal. Internal synchronous rectification control circuitry is used to reduce power consumption during pulse-width modulation (PWM) operation.
Internal circuit protection is includedCurrent protection, motor grounding or power supply short circuit, thermal shutdown due to hysteresis, VBBUndervoltage monitoring and crossover current protection.
The A4954 is available in a small 16-pin TSSOP package with an external heatsink (suffix LP). The package is lead (Pb) free and has 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
