Electric motors designed to meet printers and office automation equipmentdriveand power requirements. This integrated power IC combines two high-current, high-performance full-bridge outputs and is capable of operating in an electrical environment of 50 volts and 1.5 amps. In addition, two power rails are provided specifically for powering a microprocessor or DSP. A switching buck regulator steps down the power supply to a low voltage output that can be adjusted between 3.3 and 5 volts. This voltage can be used to power an external 5 volt rail, feed back to the part, and power an integrated linear regulator adjustable from 1 to 2.5 volts.
The A3998 serial port provides flexible configuration for dual full-bridge motor drivers. Two full bridges can be programmed to control one stepper motor or two DC motors. Both bridges integrate fixed off-time PWM control with programmable attenuation mode selection.
The A3998 is available in a low profile 32-connector QFN package with 5 × 5 mm, 0.90 mm nominal height, and an exposed heat shield (suffix ET). The package is lead (Pb) free and features 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
