illustrate
The LM2833 regulator is a monolithic, high-frequency, PWM step-down DC/DC converter in a 10-pin LLP or eMSOP package. It contains all active functions, provides fast transient response, and precisely adjusts local DC/DC conversion with the smallest possible PCB area. With minimal external components, the LM2833 is easy to use. The 3.0A load drive capability with an internal 56 mM PMOS switch using state-of-the-art 0.5 micron BiCMOS process technology provides optimal power density results. World-class control circuitry allows a time as low as 30ns, allowing very high frequency conversion over the entire 3V frequency with a minimum output voltage range of 0.6V to 5.5V. The switching frequency is internally programmed to 1.5MHz or 3.0MHz, allowing the use of very small surface mount inductors and capacitors. Even with high operating frequencies, efficiencies as high as 93% are easily achievable. Includes external shutdown with ultra-low standby current of 300nA. The LM2833 uses peak current mode control with internal compensation to provide high-performance regulation of a wide range of operating conditions. Other features include internal soft-start circuitry to reduce inrush current, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, frequency foldback, thermal shutdown, and output overvoltage protection.
