illustrate
The LM3530 current mode boost converter provides power and controls the current of up to 11 series white LEDs. The 839 mA current limit and 2.7V to 5.5V input voltage range make the device ideal for portable applications with versatile backlit power supplies.
LED current can pass through I from 0 to 29.5 mA 2 C-compatible interface. The current 127 different steps and 8 different maximum LED current levels give 1000 programmable LEDs the current level. In addition, PWM brightness control can be input via external logic levels.
The device also has two ambient light sensor inputs. These are designed to monitor analog output ambient light sensors and provide programmable adjustment to LED current changes with ambient light. Each ambient light sensor input has an individually programmable internal voltage setting that can be made high impedance to reduce shutdown power resistance. The LM3530's 500kHz switching frequency allows high conversion efficiency over a wide output voltage range from 2 to 11 series LEDs. Finally, adjusting the backlit content supports maximizing battery life while maintaining the image quality of the display.
The LM3530 is a tiny 12 solder ball available (1.6 mm× 1.2 mm × 0.425 mm) micro SMD package that operates over a -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
