illustrate
The LM89 is an 11-bit digital temperature sensor with a two-wire system management bus (SMBus) serial interface. The LM89 accurately measures its own temperature as well as the temperature of external devices such as the thermal diode of the processor or the transistor connected to the diode of the 2N3904. The temperature of any ASIC can be accurately determined as long as the LM89 used is a dedicated diode (semiconductor junction) target dead. The LM89 ± 0.75°C factory embedded with series resistance and 1.0021 typical non-ideal factor of Intel ® Pentium 4 Mobile Pentium ™™4 processor-M thermal diode. The LM89 has an offset register that allows other diodes to be measured without continuous software management. Contact hardware.monitor.team @nsc.com for the latest data on the new processor.
LM89 and LM89-1 have the same functionality, but different SMBus slave addresses. This enables every bus on the same time.
Activated alarm output# occurs at any temperature rise outside the pre-programmed window set high and low temperature limit registers or exceeds T_CRIT temperature limits. #T_CRIT_A Any temperature exceeding T_CRIT programming limit occurs when activated. The LM89 is pin and register compatible with the LM86, LM90, Analog Devices ADM1032, and Maxim MAX6657/8.
