The LP3963/LP3966 series of fast ultra-low dropout linear regulators operate from +2.5 V to +7.0 V input supplies. A wide range of preset output voltage options are available. These ultra-low dropout linear regulators react very quickly to one-step load changes, which makes them suitable for low-voltage microprocessor applications. The LP3963/LP3966 allow CMOS process development on independent output load current and low quiescent current operation. This CMOS process also allows the LP3963/LP3966 to operate at very low differential pressures.
Differential pressure:Ultra-low dropout voltage typically has 80mV at 300mA load current and 3A load current of 800mV.
Ground pin current:Typically 6 mA at a load current of 3A.
Shutdown mode:Quiescent current is typically 15μA when the shutdown pin is pulled low.
Error #flag:The error # flag becomes low when the output voltage drops below 10% of the nominal value (LP3963).
Go out:Needle feel improves at remote load regulation. (LP3966)
Precision output voltage:Multiple output voltage options are available ranging from 1.2V to 5.0V and adjustable (LP3966), with guaranteed accuracy of ± 1.5% at room temperature and ± 3.0% under all conditions (different lines, loads and temperatures).
