The TPS51220A is a dual synchronous buck regulator controller with two LDOs. This technology optimizes the 5-V/3.3-V system controller, cost-effectively powering 2- to 4-cell notebook computers. The TPS51220A supports high efficiency, fast transient response, and 99% duty cycle operation. It supports input voltages ranging from 4.5 V to 32 V from a 1 V supply and output voltages of 12 V, with two control schemes to choose from depending on the application type. Peak current mode supports stable operation with ESR capacitance and low output accuracy. The D-CAP mode supports fast transient response. High tariff (99%) operation and wide input/output voltage range support flexible small form factor mobile computer designs and a variety of other applications.
