XC9116B02AMR boosts DC/DCconverter- Backlit LED driver
The XC9116 series is a step-up DC/DC converter chip with fixed operating frequency and constant output current, which is ideal for driving backlight LEDs in mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras and other electronic devices.
The output voltage of the XC9116 series can reach 18V. When the input voltage is 3.2V, the XC9116 series of chips can drive four LEDs in series. When the input voltage is 2.5V, the XC9116 series of chips can drive two rows of LEDs in parallel, with 3 LEDs in series per row.
Adding a set of PWM-controlled signals to the CE pin of the XC9116 series controls the brightness of the LED. The XC9116 series has an operating frequency of up to 1.0MHz and a very low reference voltage, which greatly reduces power consumption and has high efficiency.
In addition, the XC9116 series includes a power switch with an on-resistance of 2.0Ω and uses only a very small ceramic capacitor (0.22uF) as the load capacitor.
The Type B of the XC9116 series (under development) also has a built-in fault detection circuit. When the output voltage is too high, the power switch inside the chip stops working through the feedback loop, which can prevent damage to the LED.
