The AD7390/AD7391 family are 10-, 12-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converters that operate from a single +3 V supply. These monolithic DACs are manufactured using the CBCMOS process for 3V single-supply system applications and are low cost and easy to use. The guaranteed operating voltage range of +2.7 V to +5.5 V and the power consumption of less than 100 μA make this device ideal for battery-powered applications.
The full-scale voltage output is determined by the applied external reference input voltage. Rail-to-rail REFIN to DACOUTAllows the full-scale voltage to be set to a positive supply voltage, VDDor any value in between.
The double-buffered serial data interface utilizes data input (SDI), clock (CLK), and chip select (CS/LD) pins to provide high-speed, 3-wire, SPI, and microcontroller-compatible inputs. In addition, when powered on or requested by the user,CLRThe input sets the output to zero scale.
Both devices use the same pinout, allowing the user to select the appropriate resolution for the specific application without having to redesign the board.
The AD7390/AD7391 are specified over the extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and are available in both plastic DIP and 1.75 mm, low profile SO-8 surface mount packages. For ultra-compact applications, a 1.1 mm, ultra-thin TSSOP-8 package is also available.
