ADP3303It belongs to the ADP330x family of precision low dropout voltages
anyCAP® regulator, with a novel architecture, improved process, and new package, provides better performance than traditional LDOs. Its patented design requires only a 0.47 μF output capacitor to remain stable. The device is stable with any capacitor, independent of the capacitor's ESR (equivalent series resistance) value, including ceramic (MLCC) capacitors for space-constrained applications. The ADP3303 achieves excellent accuracy of ±0.8% at room temperature and an overall accuracy of ±1.4% for temperature, line, and load regulation. At 200 mA, the dropout voltage is only 180 mV (typical).
In addition to the new architecture and process, Analog Devices' new proprietary thermal enhanced package (Thermal Coastline) can handle 1 W power consumption without the need for an external heat sink or the use of copper over a large area on the printed circuit board. This keeps printed circuit board area to a minimum, making it attractive for portable devices.
The ADP3303 has a wide input voltage range (3.2 V to 12 V) and delivers more than 200 mA of load current. The device has an error flag that displays information when the device is about to generate an offset or when short-circuit, thermal overload protection is activated. Other features include shutdown and optional noise reduction. The ADP330x anyCAP® LDO family offers a wide output voltage range with output current levels from 50 mA to 200 mA:
ADP3300 (50 mA, SOT-23)
ADP3301 (100 mA)
ADP3302 (100 mA, dual output)
