The ADV7120 (ADV®) is a single-chip digital video
converterDesigned for high-resolution color graphics and video systems, it includes three high-speed, 8-bit video digital-to-analog converters (RGBs), a standard TTL input interface, and a high-impedance, analog output current source.
It has three separate 8-bit, pixel input ports for red, green, and blue video data. Other video input controls include composite sync, blank, and reference white. Only a single +5 V supply, an external 1.23 V reference, and pixel clock input are required for operation.
The ADV7120 generates RGB video output signals compatible with the RS-343A and RS-170 video standards without the need for external buffering.
The ADV7120 is fabricated on a +5 V CMOS process, and the monolithic CMOS structure ensures more functionality with low power consumption. The device is available in two packages: a 0.6-inch, 40-pin plastic DIP package and a 44-pin plastic chip (J-lead) carrier (PLCC) package.
