The DAC-8426 is a complete quad voltage output DAC with an internal reference. This product plugs directly into any existing 7226 socket where the user currently uses a 10 V external reference. An external reference is no longer required. The internal reference of the DAC-8426 is laser-trimmed to ±0.4% accuracy, has a temperature coefficient of 25ppm/°C, and has 5mA external load drive capability.
The DAC-8426 integrates four 8-bit voltage output CMOS DACs on a single chip. The latch and interface control logic are set up by a 10 V output bandgap reference.
When write strobe is active low, one of the four latches selected by the address input is loaded from the 8-bit data bus input. All digital inputs are TTL/CMOS (5V) compatible. The on-chip amplifier can drive up to 10mA into a single or dual supply. The on-chip reference is always connected to the internal DAC and provides 5mA to drive external components.
The small size, low power consumption, and low cost per channel make the DAC-8426 ideal for applications that use multiple D/A converters without sacrificing board space. System reliability is improved due to reduced component count.
Analog Devices' advanced oxide-silicon gate CMOS process allows analog and digital circuitry of the DAC-8426 to be produced on the same chip. In addition, Analog Devices' highly stable thin-film R-2R resistor ladder network facilitates matching and temperature tracking between DACs.
