The ISL8036, ISL8036A integrates dual 3A output current or current 1MHz (ISL8036)/2.5MHz buck regulators (ISL8036A), which is ideal for any low-power, low-voltage application sharing operation rated power controller. The channels are input RMS current and EMI reduction with a phase of 180°. It is optimized to generate a low output voltage down to 0.8V each. The supply voltage range is from 2.8V to 6V, allowing the use of a single Li-Ion battery, three NiMH batteries or a regulated 5V input. The two channels are 180° out-of-phase, each with a guaranteed minimum output current of 3A. They can be combined to form a single 6A output current sharing mode. Although currently shared, interleaved PWM signals reduce input and output ripple. ISL8036, ISL8036A includes a pair of low on-resistance P-channel and N-channel internal MOSFETs to maximize efficiency and reduce external component count. 100% duty cycle operation allows for a voltage drop of less than 250mV each at 3A. The ISL8036, ISL8036A provides a separate 1ms Power Good (PG) on power-up timer. When powered off, the output capacitors of the ISL8036 and ISL8036A are discharged. Other features include internal digital soft-start to sequence the power supply, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown. The ISL8036, ISL8036A is available in a 1mm, max. height 24 LD 4mmx4mm QFN package. The complete converter occupies an area of not less than 1.5cm.
