illustrate
The LMH2110 is a 45 dB logarithmic RMS power detector that is particularly suitable for accurate power measurement of modulated RF signals, exhibiting large peak-to-average ratios, i.e. envelope changes of large signals. Encountering such signals is in W-CDMA and LTE mobile phones. The RMS measurement topology inherently guarantees modulation-insensitive measurements.
The device has an RF frequency range from 50 MHz to 8 GHz. It provides an accurate, temperature- and power-insensitive, output voltage linear with dBm RF input power. The LMH2110's excellent logarithmic response consistency enables easy integration and use of ramp-only interception, significantly reducing calibration effort. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5V supply. The LMH2110 is ideal for use with directional couplers when it has an RF power detection range of 5 dBm from -40 dBm. Alternatively, a resistor divider can be used, as well.
The device is active EN = high, otherwise it is in a low-power shutdown mode. To conserve power and prevent the external filter capacitor from discharging, the output (OUT) is a high impedance during shutdown.
The LMH2110 power detector offers a tiny 6-ball microSMD package.
