illustrate
The LMS485 is a low-power differential bus/line transceiver designed for high-speed bidirectional data communication over multipoint bus transmission lines. It is designed for balancing transmission lines. It complies with the ANSI standards TIA/EIA RS - 422-B, TIA/EIA RS - 485-A and ITU recommendations and V.11 and X.27. The LMS485 combines a three-state ™ differential line driver and a differential input receiver, both of which operate from a single 5.0V supply. The driver and receiver are highly active and aggressively low, respectively externally connected to the directional control function. The differential inputs of the driver and receiver are internally connected to form a differential input/output (I/O) bus designed to provide a port with minimal load on the bus whenever the driver is disabled or VC = 0V. These ports feature a wide range of positive and negative common-mode voltages, making the device suitable for multi-point applications in noisy environments. The LMS485 is available in an 8-pin SOIC and 8-pin DIP package. This is a drop-down socket replacement for the Maxim's MAX485
