The A8426 provides a robust xenon flash solution for a wide range of cameras. Its wide battery voltage specifications allow designers to use general-purpose devices that use 2 or 4 alkaline batteries and 1 or 2 lithium-ion batteries for cameras. It is equipped with a 55 V rated integrated power switch that provides ample design headroom, including a 2-cell lithium-ion battery design.
The A8426 has a flexible current limiting scheme. The current limit is set by an external resistor from the ISET, allowing designers to optimize their camera performance. The A8426 also features circuit and short circuit protection on the ISET pins. Once the current limit is set, the designer can choose to program it by a percentage of the set current via a single-wire interface or via the charging pin.
The A8426 features an integrated, flexible IGBT gate driver with independent pull and sink current pins.
The A8426 is available in a 16-mount 3 mm × 3 mm MLP/TQFN package. This small, low-profile (0.75 mm) package is ideal for applications where space is limited. The package is lead-free and the pin frame is 100% matte tin plated.
