The AD7303 is a dual, 8-bit voltage output DAC that operates from a single +2.7 V to +5.5 V supply. It includes on-chip precision output buffering for rail-to-rail output swing. THE DEVICE FEATURES A VERSATILE 3-WIRE SERIAL INTERFACE CAPABLE OF OPERATING AT CLOCK RATES UP TO 30 UMHz and is compatible with qspi, spi, microwire, and digital signal processor interface standards. The serial input registers are 16 bits, of which 8 bits are used as data bits of the DAC and the remaining 8 bits form a control register.
On-chip control registers are used to address the DACs of interest, to put the entire device or individual DACs into power-down mode, to select an internal or external reference, and to provide a synchronous loading device to update each DAC output simultaneously using software LDAC functionality.
The low power consumption makes this device ideal for portable, battery-powered devices. The maximum power consumption is 7.5 mW at 3 V and drops to less than 3 μW in full power-down mode.
The AD7303 is available in 8-lead plastic dual in-line, 8-lead SOIC, and microSOIC packages.
