The AD8227 is a low cost, wide supply voltage range
Instrumentation amplifiers, only an external resistor is required to set the gain, which ranges from 5 to 1000. The device accommodates many different signal voltages. The wide input range and rail-to-rail output allow the signal to take full advantage of the supply rails. Since the input range can also drop below the negative supply voltage, small signals close to ground can be amplified without the need for dual supplies. The device operates from a ±1.5 V to ±18 V supply (a single 2.2 V to 36 V supply).
The robust inputs of the AD8227 are designed to interface with actual sensors. In addition to a wide operating voltage range, it can handle voltages beyond the supply rails. For example, when operating from a ±5 V supply, the voltage at the input is guaranteed to reach ±35 V without damaging the device. The minimum and maximum input bias currents facilitate open-circuit detection. The AD8227 is ideal for multichannel, space-constrained applications. The MSOP package and 125°C temperature rating make it useful in highly compact, airtight designs.
The AD8227 is available in 8-lead MSOP and SOIC packages and is specified over the −40°C to +125°C temperature range.
