The ADL5382 is a high performance quadratureI/Q demodulatorIts RF input frequency range is 700 MHz~2.7 GHz. ADL5382 noise figure NF = 14 dB, IP1dB = 14.7 dBm, and IIP3 = 33.5 dBm at 900 MHz. The wide dynamic range of the ADL5382 makes it suitable for demanding requirements for direct conversion of communications facilities. The differential RF input provides 50Ω wideband input impedance and should be driven by a 1:1 balun for optimal performance
To generate a quadrature local oscillator signal, built-in polyphase can be utilizedfilterAchieve outstanding orthogonal accuracy. Excellent demodulation accuracy is obtained over a wide local oscillator frequency range of ~0.05 dB and ~0.2°. The demodulated non-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) differential output signals are buffered. The voltage conversion gain is ~4dB, independent of differential load impedance, the impedance can be as small as 100Ω, and the drive capability at 200Ω load exceeds 2Vpp. The fully balanced design reduces second-order distortion products. Leakage from the local oscillator port to the RF port is less than -65 dBc. The dc differential bias of the I, Q output ports is less than 10 mV. These two features result in excellent IIP2 (>60 dBm) performance.
The ADL5382 operates from a 4.75 V ~ 5.25 V supply. The supply current can be regulated using an external resistor between the BIAS pin and the grounding point. The ADL5382 is fabricated using Analog Devices' advanced silicon-germanium bipolar process in a 24-lead exposed LFCSP package with an operating temperature range of -40°C ~ +85°C.
