ADL5382 is a high-performance quadrature I/Q demodulator with an RF input frequency range of 700 MHz~2.7 GHz. ADL5382 noise figure NF = 14 dB, IP1dB = 14.7 dBm, and IIP3 = 33.5 dBm at 900 MHz. ADL5382 has a wide dynamic range and is suitable for the demanding requirements of direct conversion of communication facilities. The differential RF input provides 50Ω wideband input impedance, and for optimal performance, a 1:1 balun drive should be used
To generate a local orthogonal signal, a built-in multiphase filter can be used to achieve outstanding orthogonal accuracy. Excellent demodulation accuracy is obtained over a wide local frequency range of ~0.05 dB and ~0.2°. The demodulated co-phase (I) and orthogonal (Q) differential output signals are buffered. The voltage conversion gain is ~4dB, independent of differential load impedance, the minimum impedance can be 100Ω, and the driving capacity at 200Ω load is more than 2Vpp. The perfectly balanced design reduces second-order distortion products. Leakage from the local oscillator port to the RF port is less than -65 dBc. The DC differential bias of the I, Q output ports is less than 10 mV. These two features result in excellent IIP2 (>60 dBm) performance.
ADL5382 is powered from a 4.75 V ~ 5.25 V supply. The external resistor between the BIAS pin and the ground point can be used to regulate the supply current. ADL5382 is manufactured using Analog Devices' advanced silicon-germanium bipolar process in a 24-pin pad exposed LFCSP package with an operating temperature range of -40°C ~ +85°C.
