ADP3301It belongs to the ADP330x family of precision low dropout anyCAP®Voltage regulator。 What sets the ADP3301 apart from traditional LDOs is its novel architecture, enhanced process technology, and new packaging. Its patented design includes a noninverting wideband driver and a circuit stage that allows internal "pole split" capacitors to stabilize the feedback loop with a small output capacitor as low as 0.47 μF. The device is stable with any type of capacitor, including ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) for space-constrained applications, regardless of ESR (equivalent series resistance) values. The ADP3301 achieves excellent accuracy of ±0.8% at room temperature and an overall accuracy of ±1.4% for temperature, line, and load regulation. The ADP3301 has a dropout voltage of only 100 mV (typical) at 100 mA.
In addition to the new architecture and process, ADI's new proprietary Thermal Coastline package handles 1 W of power consumption without external thermal dissipation or without a large copper layer on the PC board. This allows the PC board area of the ADP3301 to be effectively reduced, making it ideal for use in portable devices.
The ADP3301 has a wide input voltage range of 3 V to 12 V and can deliver load currents in excess of 100 mA. The device features error flags when the device is about to enter an unregulated state, or when short-circuit or thermal overload protection is activated. Other features include shutdown and optional noise reduction. The ADP330x anyCAP®* LDO family offers a wide output voltage range and output current from 50 mA to 200 mA:
ADP3300 (50 mA, SOT-23 package)
ADP3303 (200 mA)
