LP4951C LP4950C and micropower regulator with very low quiescent current (75μA typical) and very low dropout voltage of 380mV at light loads of 100mA (typical difference of less than 40mV). They are ideal for using battery-powered systems. In addition, quiescent current for the LP4950C/LP4951C increases only in school dropouts, extending battery life.

The popular 3-pin TO-92 package on the LP4950C is pin compatible with older 5V regulators. The 8-lead LP4951C is available in a plastic surface mount package and provides additional system functionality.

One such feature is an error flag warning that the output voltage is low, often due to falling battery input and output. It can be used for power-on reset. The second feature is a logic-compatible shutdown input that turns the regulator on and off. In addition, sections can be programmed for a 5V output pin or an external resistor from 1.24V to 29V.
