Texas Instruments' MSP430 ultra-low-power microcontroller family includes multiple devices with peripheral sets for a variety of different applications. The architecture, combined with 5 low-power modes, is optimized to implement portablemeasurement applications to extend battery life. The device features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and a constant generator to help maximize code efficiency. The digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) wakes up from low-power mode and can be in active mode in less than 6 microseconds.

The MSP430F41x2 is configured with two 16-bit timers, a basic timerwith a real-time clock, a 10-bit A/D converter, a multifunction analog comparator, two universal serial communication interfaces, up to 48 I/O-pin microcontrollers, and a liquid crystal display driver.
