Texas Instruments' MSP430 ultra-low-power microcontroller family includes multiple devices with peripheral sets for a variety of different applications. The architecture, with 5 low-power modes combined, is optimized to enable portablemeasurement applications to extend battery life. The device features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generators to help maximize code efficiency. The CNC Oscillator (DCO) wakes up from low-power mode, which can be used in active mode in less than 6 microseconds.
