AD2S1205WSTZ is a complete 12-bit resolution tracking decomposer digitizer with a built-in programmable sine wave oscillator that provides sine wave excitation to the decomposer.
The converter's Sin and Cos inputs support 3.15 V p-p ± 27% of the input signal. Type II trace loops can be used to track the input signal and convert the information from the Sin and Cos inputs into the corresponding number of input angles and rates. The maximum trace rate is a function of the external clock frequency. AD2S105 operates at 8.192 MHz ± 25% and has a maximum tracking rate of 1250 rps.
Product features:
- Scale tracking conversions. Type II tracking loops are capable of continuously outputting position data with no conversion delay. It also provides noise suppression, as well as harmonic distortion tolerance for reference and input signals.
- System fault detection. Fault detection circuitry can detect decomposer signal loss, out-of-range input signals, input signal mismatches, or position tracking losses.
- Input signal range. The Sin and Cos inputs support a differential input voltage of 3.15 V p-p ± 27%.
- Programmable excitation frequency. The frequency selection pins (FS1 and FS2) make it easy to set the excitation frequency to 10 kHz, 12 kHz, 15 kHz, or 20 kHz.
- 3x format location data. Absolute 12-bit angular position data can be accessed via a 12-bit parallel port or a 3-wire serial interface. Incremental encoder emulation is in standard A-quad-B format with directional output.
- Digital rate output. 12-bit, symbolized digital rates are accessible via a 12-bit parallel port or a 3-wire serial interface.
