AD9913is a complete direct digital frequency
synthesizer(DDS), designed to meet the stringent power constraints of portable, handheld, and battery-powered devices. The device contains a 10-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with a maximum sample rate of 250 MSPS. It uses advanced DDS technology, along with a high-speed, high-performance DAC, to form a complete digitally programmable high-frequency synthesizer capable of generating frequency-agile analog output sine waves up to 100 MHz.
The AD9913 offers fast frequency hopping and precision tuning resolution. It also has good phase offset control resolution. Control words are loaded into the AD9913 through serial or parallel I/O ports. It also supports operation in user-defined linear sweep modes to produce highly linear sweep waveforms at frequencies. To support multiple methods of generating the system clock, the AD9913 contains not only an oscillator that can use a simple crystal as a frequency reference, but also a high speed clock multiplier that converts the reference clock frequency to the entire system clock rate. To reduce power consumption, many of the AD9913's individual modules can be shut down when not in operation.
The AD9913 operates over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.
